Making Money from Selling Advertising Space

If you would observe the company that delivers the daily paper to your doorstep for a business case study, you will come to learn that the newspaper publisher hires reporters, writers and other important staff to create the contents and deliver the papers to their readers.

In addition to the above mention, the publisher has to invest regularly in heavy duty machineries and tons of papers in printing tons of newspapers on a daily basis.

And in order to ensure that the newspapers are delivered on time, the publisher appoints agents at every part of the covered territory.

So, how does the newspaper company make money? It is obvious that selling a copy of the papers at less than a dollar would not even be able to even fund the operations.

The answer? Selling advertising spaces! You have definitely seen lots of advertisements in the newspaper. The publisher simply sells advertising space in the papers to advertisers who want to leverage their advertising efforts on the paper’s high readership.

On the same analogy, you can make money online the exact way from your newsletter: simply by selling advertising space to prospective advertisers!

If your mailing list size exceeds 1,000 (5,000 is recommended) subscribers and beyond, you can start selling advertising space for say, $10.00 per sponsor ad.

In this manner, you turn every issue you send out to your subscribers into a profit-pulling device. And since there is virtually no end to the stream of advertisers as products, services and businesses are cropping every single day in every industry imaginable, so are your money making opportunities.

Become A Blog Mogul - It's Not That Hard

You can make a ton of money from just one blog. Even if you're not that good at it, you can make several hundred dollars a month from just one blog. Now, multiply that and you can see how you can build yourself into a six-figure income in no time.

A large part of the magic of the Internet is its interconnectedness. Like billiard balls all crashing around the pool table just after someone's broken, Internet surfers are bopping all around the Internet from site to site in search of...whatever they're in search of. Imagine if you could harness part of this organized chaos? How much money could you make then?

You can do this, by the way.

Darren Rowse of Problogger.net is a multiple six figure blogger who has done just this, harnessed the organized chaos of the Internet to create quite a nice income for himself.

One way that Darren has done this is through creating blog networks.

What's a blog network? Well, think about it like this.

Let's take a subject you're interested in. Create a blog and get it up and running. Now, once you get traffic to that, you can create another blog, then another, then another. This becomes kind of a logistical nightmare, and unless you outsource some of the writing, you're going to be typing twelve hours a day, but these problems are just details.

The issue is that once you get all these blogs created, you link them all together into your own blog spider web. Let's say someone comes to your jewelry making blog, they see your links in your sidebar and read about all of the other blogs in your network. They see a blog about movie reviews. Well, they really didn't want to buy jewelry, but they are interested in downloading a new movie. So, they click over to your movie review blog and bingo! You've made money whereas before you would have lost the visitor to someone else.

Blog Your Way To Profit In 7 Steps

Creating and building up a profitable blog is a lot like building a piece of profitable real estate, except a lot easier. Having a steady, passive income source is also great, especially in today's economy. You can earn anywhere from a few hundred dollars per blog to several thousand. Get a few of these babies up and running and you'll be making essentially a full time income. Getting from concept to actual realization, however, is not as easy as it sounds. There are literally over 100,000 new blogs created daily! Getting yours to be profitable is not rocket science, but it doesn't happen without some work. Here are seven steps, which, if followed, can result in your blog becoming a profit spewing money machine.

Step 1: Compile a list of your passions. Figure out what you would be interested in writing about for a year. Is it going to take a year for you to make your blog profitable? No. More like a few months. When it does become profitable, you'll want to pour on the coal and turn it into a nice money machine. That'll take several more months. Look at blogging as a year or so long project. If you're passionate about your subject, however, what easier way could there be to make money?

Step 2: Discover your niche market. This is really a refinement on Step 1. A good resource is Blogcatalog.com . Use this, Technorati, and other resources to help position your blog to be different from others.

Step 3: Start writing articles immediately. The more you write, the more you're going to write well, and the more your articles are going to interest your readers. Successful blogging is not mainly about pleasing the search engines. It's about pleasing your readers.

Step 4: Choose a domain with your main keyword phrase in it, hopefully at the beginning. You can use Yahoo! Domains to do this. Also a lot of folks use either GoDaddy.com or Namecheap.com to register domains.

Step 5: Choose a webhost. Make sure your host can deal with WordPress. (Most can, nowadays.) Also, it's going to be easier on you if your dashboard is cPanel. Another thing to watch out for is to make sure your cPanel has Fantastico, which is one step WordPress installation software.

Step 6: After creating your blog, choose a theme that goes with what you're writing. Themes are usually free, and there are hundreds to choose from. Start uploading your posts. Also, start working on getting some advertising going on your blog. Set up Google AdSense. Look and see if you can find any good CPA offers that match your niche.

Step 7: Start social bookmarking. Build your social network. Use Technorati, Digg, StumbleUpon, and other web 2.0 sites to start getting traffic to your site.

The most important thing you need to understand about blogging is to be patient. A good blog is not grown in a day, week, or even a month. It's more like six months to a year. Don't get discouraged, either. Just keep posting good content, marketing your blog, and the traffic will build. With traffic, you'll also get sales...and money!

Things to sell on eBay for Money

You have some "junk" in your basement, or garage and you want to sell it. So the first thing most people used to do was set up a garage sale. Now people go online and sell it on auction websites like eBay. There are millions of items for sale on the online auction sites. But the question is if all that stuff is "junk" or if any of it is real quality products like you would find in a store in the mall. The answer is yes there are more items for sale on those sites from legitimate businesses than "junk" from your basement. Those that are willing to take the time and effort to set up a business online are making a killing selling stuff on eBay. Those people were able to set up a store online and sell items to customers with little start up costs and no overhead. And those people are numbering in the hundreds of thousands and there is no reason you can't be one of them.

Ebay calls those that are successful on their site "powersellers". If you are serious about making money online through the auction websites then you should set a goal to become a powerseller yourself. To do that the first thing you should do is not set up an account with eBay. No, before you even go on the site you should consider getting some education on how to set up your account the right way, and how to sell like a powerseller. A little education will save you hundreds of dollars and time by avoiding the common mistakes so many people make when starting out. The process is not rocket science but there are some tricks and techniques that make the process easier and more profitable if you know what you are doing.

What to sell is the common question by people starting out. Well the best answer is choose something that you are comfortable selling. Often this is something that you have passion about, or are familiar with. It could be cars, toys, or cloth diapers. It really doesn't matter, as long as you know the product well enough to answer questions your future customers will have.

You also want to focus on just one product at the start of your eBay selling career. The reason for this is simple. You don't want to spend time learning about a product. You want to spend time learning about the selling on online auction process. Learning the process is what will turn you into a powerseller. Once you master the process all you need to do is wash, rinse, and repeat over and over again with any product you chose. Once you know the process the sky is the limit as to what you can sell and earn on eBay.

You can sell anything at an online auction website. Just pick an item and give it a try. Learn the process from a trusted eBay training program so that the learning curve is short as possible. Then once you master the process the training program will show you how to source products to sell that do not come from your basement. They will even show you how to find companies that will sell to you at a discount and ship to your buyer for you. When that happens you will be competing with the big boys and well on your way to a full time income online.

Make $1000 A Month Blogging - Here is How

Surely you've thought about how cool it would be to make money online. I mean, how could anything be better than having a website that just pours money into your bank account month in and month out?

Think this is something you can't achieve? That it's only for "geeks", or experienced internet marketers?

Think again! Building a website and getting it to the point you make several hundred or even $1,000 per month out of it is entirely within the realm of possibilities. A ten year old could do it, if she knew how.

Let's learn how.

Here are 5 steps you can follow to start creating your money making, blog empire.

  1. Choose a product or niche that really interests you. Blogging is about communicating. You're going to be writing posts on this subject for months to come. Preferably, you'll be posting once per day, at the minimum three times per week. If you haven't chosen something you can really sink your teeth into, you're going to get bored, stop writing, and all your efforts will be for nothing.

  2. Do your keyword research. You can write as much as you want as well as you want, but if your visitors can't find you in the search engines, nobody's coming to your blog. No traffic = no money, and you surely don't want that! You can use Google's External Keyword Tool to do your keyword research. Just type in your top level keyword (something like "dog training") and see what the tool tells you. Narrow your choice down some, then download a list of 100 or so keywords to your computer. Use those as titles for your posts and also as the keywords your posts are optimized around.

  3. Make sure you give your readers good, reliable information. A blog positions you as the "expert". This is a two-edged sword. You can build your reputation in your niche or destroy it just as effectively. Make sure your double check the information you're giving your readers. Also, don't just write fluff. Even though you need to be posting on a regular basis, it would be better not to post than to write junk.

  4. It bears repeating that you need to update your blog frequently. Some top bloggers post several times a day. They find good, useful information and get it out to their readers as soon as possible. That way, they build a following of readers who either bookmark their blog, or subscribe to it in their RSS reader.

  5. Stay on topic. Even if you're writing about something that you're totally passionate about, it's tempting to throw other stuff in. In some niches, this might work. Sometimes personal information about what you did and where you went is appropriate. One of the top bloggers, John Chow, often puts pictures of the meals he eats in fancy restaurants on his blog. He writes a blog about internet marketing, and food has nothing to do with it. But it's a sort of signature of his. You can do this, but don't just meander. Your readers come to your blog for specific information and insights. Make sure you satisfy them.

Making money off of a blog that has traffic is much easier than making money off of a blog with no traffic (which is impossible). Build up your traffic first, then work on better and better monetization strategies. Pretty soon, you'll have an online asset pumping out $1,000 per month. At that point, you can start another blog, or just continue to build up the one you've got, if you think there's still more potential.

You Need A Blog - Here Is Proof Why

If you don't know what a blog is, then you just haven't been paying attention. Or probably what's more likely the case is you have seen blogs, but just didn't recognize them. The later is probably what has actually happened. Blogs don't look like they used to. Thanks to the amazing versatility of WordPress, the premier blogging software, a blog can look like a classic straight up and down blog, an online magazine, or even a static sales page.

Now, that you know what a blog looks like, let's talk about what one is and the power of blogging.

Blogs started as a way of people keeping a sort of online journal. The idea was you could write a post today and it would show up at the top of the blog, shifting the other posts down by one. You could share whatever you were doing with the world.

Businesses, especially online businesses, soon realized the immense power of blogs. Because blogs have a communication feature which lets readers leave comments, you can really build an online community with a blog. You can see how this would work well with a number of businesses.

As blogging software became more and more flexible, however, blogs started morphing into a variety of types of website, static sites, sites with multiple authors, ecommerce sites, and online newspapers.

Because of this versatility, blogs can address multiple issues with your audience. They can provide a means of communication and community building. They can give whatever you're selling an aura (either real or manipulated) of authenticity. They can take a one person business and make them "look" like a large corporation-at least online.

All of the above is reason enough to build a blog. But there are more, perhaps even more important, reasons you absolutely must have a blog.

You must have a blog because:

  1. They can easily be used to advertise a product or service

  2. They are easily fitted with opt-in forms that can acquire your visitors' email addresses so you can market to them or communicate with them over a period of time

  3. Google loves blogs. By their very nature, blogs are easily spidered by search engines.

  4. Blogs are absurdly easy to build. With the number of themes available for WordPress, you can design a blog for virtually any purpose and it will look like a professional web designer did it

  5. Blogging can really help your visitors feel like they know you. With that familiarity, trust will build. So will your brand!Blogging to the Bank

Blogs are here to stay. They are without doubt the wave of the future. So much so, that the days of getting a static website up and running are coming to a close. In the not too distant future, every site made will either be a blog, or will have blogging capabilities.

Make Money Wrting Articles

Article writing is a fun way to make money online if you writing is your forte. There are several sites like Squidoo.com and HubPages.com that allow you to post articles on their sites about any topic you want. Those sites will then place ads around your articles that are on the topic of your article. As those ads generate sales you will be given a percentage of the revenue generated by those ads. Of course you can do the same thing by creating a blog and earn the full revenue of the ads instead of sharing it with someone else.

4 Blog Revenue Generating Tips

Blogs are hot! And one of the best ways to make money online is blogging. You can get paid to blog for others, get paid to blog on your own blog about certain subjects, or you can just get a lot of traffic to your own blog and get paid through AdSense clicks and affiliate sales. Either way, blogging is a great way to make money online. Some bloggers, like John Chow, make six figure incomes out of one blog. Others run several blogs, which they make even more money out of.

Interested in knowing how to do this? Take a look at these four tips, and you'll be well on your way.

Tip 1: Choose the Right Topic

If you write about a topic that very few people want to read about, then you're not going to make money. If you write about a topic that people aren't willing to spend money on, then you're not going to make money. You have to write about something that people spend money on, and you're going to have to get search engine traffic to your posts.

Figuring out what people spend money on is relatively easy. You can just pay attention to the ads on big, popular sites. Weight loss, travel, insurance, health, health foods...those sorts of things are topics that people spend literally billions on each year.

If you're not sure your topic is a money maker, just type your main keyword phrase into Google, and see how many ads pop up. If advertisers are advertising for that keyword phrase, you can bet it's a money maker.

To make sure you get plenty of traffic to your site, write your posts based on keyword phrases that actually get plenty of searches. 5,000 per month is about what you should be looking for. Make sure you optimize your post for that particular keyword phrase.

Tip 2: Stick to High Paying Niches

You're going to make money through Google AdSense, CPA offers, and affiliate offers. Make sure you go for the high payout niches. After all, if you're going to do all this work, you might as well get paid for it.

Tip 3: Create Multiple Streams of Income

Don't just rely on one source of income from your blog. Once you establish traffic, monetize it in various ways. AdSense, CPA offers, paid ads, paid posts if appropriate, all of these can substantially add to your bottom line.

Tip 4: Be patient.

This is not get rich quick. This is build a lasting asset slowly. Blogs build a following and also build in the search rankings slowly. The best part of this is once a certain page on your blog is ranking well for a certain keyword term, you don't have to work on that page as much. You can shift your attention to other pages or other blogs.

Make Money With Digital Products

The surest way to become rich has always been by having your own business. The problem was that in the "industrial age", you needed masses of capital and contacts to get started - you had to setup huge factories and employ swathes of people.

You needed a physical product to sell, which took cash, resources and skills to create and market. And for those lacking in capital and contacts to get started, it was pretty tough to make it happen.

Today, it's a different story. We live in the information age, a world of boundless opportunity. You can literally create value out of thin air, and start your own business with nothing but your wits and an internet connection. The barriers to entry to business have never been lower - millionaire status has never been more accessible.

I was born in the mid 70's and grew up just as the Internet was taking its grip on the world, but it wasn't until my early 30's that I began to look at the Internet as a way to generate capital. I darted from one business opportunity to the next before settling on info product marketing as the way I was going to make my first million. I sold my first info product at the tail-end of 2005, was making $100 a day within a few months, and within a year I was pulling in $1,000 a day.

Yes, none of this would have been possible without the information age and Internet - but more specifically, it wouldn't have been possible without digital products and ClickBank either.

The beauty of digital products - e-books and software - is that they cost very little to create, and almost nothing to replicate. A traditional industrial age business might need to sell $20,000,000 worth of product to make $1,000,000 profit. For an e-book vendor, it's almost all profit. If you sell ten e-books a day at $47, all of it profit, that's $171,550 per year - more than most doctors or lawyers make. Double that and you are making as much as many CEO's - guys who have spent literally decades in education and climbing the corporate ladder. With the right guidance and a little dedication all of this is doable.

Secondly, because we are selling information, the value we are offering is highly subjective. I've bought info products for upwards of $2,000 - and been very happy with my purchase. In what other industry can you spend $10 printing a few booklets, sell it for a 20,000% mark-up - and still have a very happy customer who will buy from you again?

In short, the selling digital products via ClickBank allows you to side-step the expectations of the educational system, flaunt the rules of traditional, industrial-age capitalism, and become a millionaire in a matter of years - perhaps even months.

I have taken what I learned in the last 3 years or so and put them into the guide which you can get here:

3 Blogging Tips For Success

Blogging is absolutely one of the best ways to make a significant income online. Don't think about blogging like creating a one-time product, selling a few, then moving on. Blogging is a lot like offline publishing. You're creating a readership, which hopefully will come back day after day to read your blog...and buy your affiliate items and click on your ads. Build a readership large enough and you can make a very good income blogging. This is not going to take place over the next week or so. This is more like a three to six month strategy. But you're building an asset, and the rewards are well worth it.

The topic you choose for your blog is critical. You need a topic that not only has a lot of potential readers on the Internet, but also which is profitable. That is, there are affiliate products, CPA offers, and Google ads that your readers will buy or click on so that you'll make money from all your hard work. Here are three steps to finding a profitable topic (or niche) for your blog.

Step 1:

If you can focus on a topic that you already know something about, or at least that you're passionately interested in, you'll be far ahead of everyone else. Knowing a fair amount about a topic helps in multiple ways. For one thing, you'll have to do much less research. For another, familiarity just shows. You can tell by the way someone writes if they're intimately familiar with what they're writing about. Their words have that ring of truth and experience that even the best researcher can't fake.

Not only that, but a blog is not a short term deal. It's a longer term deal, if you will. If you're going to be doing this right, you're going to be living with your blog day in and day out for a year or so. Unless you are really interested in your topic, you could easily get sick of your blog a month or two into the game. That would cause you to quit writing content, which will result in your blog losing readers rapidly.

Step 2:

Do your homework. You can use Google's external keyword tool to get a feel for how many times per month a certain keyword phrase is searched. Another thing you need to do is to check out who's advertising in your niche. Having a number of advertisers is good, not bad. No advertisers, or few advertisers, doesn't mean your niche is undiscovered. There aren't any of those, anymore. What it means is that your niche is not profitable, for whatever reason.

Step 3:

Make a list of the top keywords and write your blog posts to feature these. You can easily search engine optimize a blog post by including the keyword phrase you want to rank for in your title and first sentence. Also, include it once every 50 words or so. That's 2%. You can try to go up as much as about 3%. Finally, make sure your keyword phrase is in the last part of the last sentence.

Blogging to the BankIf you follow these three steps, you really can't go wrong. Find your passion, find your niche, write a lot, and watch your stats and your income rise! It really is that easy.
